About the Event
Why not join Elaine Taylor on a Regency Promenade? This fascinating walks follow in the footsteps of the former residents who would promenade through Winckley Square Gardens, along Avenham Walk and into Avenham Park. Hear how the gardens have changed over time, what the Georgians planted and where the plants came from.
Included in the walk are visits to three private gardens, one with access to the garden going under the road and two which were laid out in Victorian and Georgian Times. The walk will finish in the beautiful garden of Overleigh House where there will be afternoon tea and and cake.
Elaine is a leading garden historian who has written the 'Gardens Past ' section of our website, which can be found at Winckley Square Preston - Gardens Past.
