Baby pumpkins, huge pumpkins, fancy pumpkins...Preston's pumpkin patches have it all this year.

Pumpkin picking is a family-friendly, fun activity guaranteed to put a smile on kids' faces. Make a day of it with attractions available, or simply grab your pumpkin and go, there are a variety of locations and events where you can get picking this year - and with plenty time to spare before Halloween.

With many places accepting bookings now, make sure to book your place early to avoid disappointment. Each venue advertised is located in Preston or within driving distance.

Bradshaws Farm Shop & Garden Centre

  • Dates: Every day in October

Bradshaws Farm Shop & Garden Centre are open for pumpkin picking every day in October. The Pumpkin Patch will be full of pumpkins & squash in a variety of sizes & colours. For the first time this year Bradshaws Farm Shop & Garden Centre are only taking bookings online. Each booking made is per vehicle (not per person) and the £2.50 booking fee is also per vehicle. The time slots are every half an hour and each time slot is for 45 minutes. 

They are open Monday - Saturday: 8am - 5pm and Sundays: 9am - 4pm. You can book your slot online or email info@bradshawsfarmshop.co.uk.

Centurion Tank Roundabout

  • Dates: Every Saturday and Sunday in October

  • Booking required: No

Open every Saturday and Sunday in October, 8am - 4pm, the Centurion Tank Roundabout patch has pumpkins in all shapes, sizes, and colours. Prices start at £1 and Covid-19 measures are in place to make sure you can pick your pumpkin safely.

Croston Pumpkin Patch

  • Dates: Every weekend from 2 October (10am - 4pm) and every weekday and weekend from 25 October (10am - 4pm)
  • Price: Pay for what you pick
  • Booking required: No

Croston Pumpkin Patch can be found at Culshaws Farm for 2022, open every weekend in October. Friday 21 October and half-term (24 - 28 October) you can grab your pumpkin here, but the farm also has rides, treats, and a maze.

Windmill Farm

  • Dates: 8 - 31 October
  • Price: £16.95 adult, £18.95 child, OAPs and Carers £15.95
  • Booking required: Yes

Windmill Farm are back with their famous pumpkin picking adventure. Tickets include a full day of access to Windmill Animal Farm as well as the Runaway Farm Train (new for 2022), and also The Famous Pumpkin Picking Adventure. Each ticket purchased also includes a single pumpkin of your choice.

You are welcome to purchase more pumpkins on the day. All pumpkins are grown on the farm, there are many different varieties and sizes to choose from. Wheelbarrows are provided and don't forget your wellies!

Mrs Dowsons Pumpkin Festival

  • Dates: Every day between 7 - 31 October (except Monday 10 October and Monday 17 October)
  • Price: £9.95 per person and includes 1 pumpkin token
  • Booking required: Yes

Experience Mrs Dowsons Farm Park's Pumpkin Festival, featuring 3 acres of homegrown pumpkins plus 12 rare imported varieties. Slip on your wellies, explore the pumpkin patch, and pick your own perfect pumpkin, fresh from the farm and grown across the UK. 

Each ticket included one pumpkin to take home. You can purchase extra pumpkins at the patch too. Don't forget to explore the farm, discover the new barns and meet your favourite farmyard animals, all included in your ticket price.

Roby Mill Pumpkin Patch

  • Dates: Every day between 7 - 31 October (except Monday 10 October and Monday 17 October)
  • Price: Pay for what you pick
  • Booking required: Weekends and Half Term

Roby Mill Pumpkin Patch is open 10am - 5pm each day they are open. Booking is only required on weekends and during Half Term and prices start at £2. A food truck will be ready to greet you, with hot drinks and snacks available. Dogs are also welcome, provided they are kept on a lead and picked up after.

Paul's Farm

  • Dates: 15, 16, 22, 23, 29 and 30 October, 10am - 4pm
  • Price: Pay for what you pick
  • Booking required: No

Paul's Farm Pumpkin Patch, in Leyland, will be returning this year with another bumper crop of farm-fresh pumpkins, ready for you to pick in time for Halloween.

When you arrive at Paul's Farm, follow the Pumpkin Patch parking signs which will direct you to the car parking areas within the stable yard.

Once parked, follow the pumpkin signs to the Haunted Hayloft where someone will let you know when the next tractor ride to the pumpkin patch is due to depart.

Whilst you wait for your tractor ride, you can sit back and relax in our spooky waiting room, take a selfie or family shot in our pumpkin photo booth, play one of our traditional pumpkin games or grab a picture of yourself sitting in one of our tractors!
