The MET

A mobile space for performers and artists to display their works.

Preston's Mobile Event Tent is an adaptable venue that can deliver day and night for children's workshops, arts and crafts, or entertainment. And for adults, workshops and exhibitions, comedy nights, theatre and live music. 

It is a fully accessible space developed in partnership with 'In Certain Places' - a research centre within UCLan's School of Arts and Media.

Tuesday 9 July

Children's Soft Play

Special event for pre school toddlers to come and experience a range of soft play equipment. All children must be accompanied by an adult, and sessions are limited to 15 children per session.

  • 11am - 11:45am, 12pm - 12:45pm, 1pm - 1:45pm, 2pm - 2:45pm

Photography Mindfulness Workshop

Mindfulness Photography to help aid well-being and personal recovery. Learn how to reconnect, and reclaim your power to help navigate and understand your emotions.

Creative Crafts

Join Joey as she takes over the MET to bring out your inner artist and creator, whether you like knitting, sewing, card or lantern making! Strictly age 16+

Bollywood Dancing

All ages welcome - come and join the fun! Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult over 18.

Taking Better Pictures with your Phone

A wide view of the stage inside The Mobile Event Tent

Want to take better photos ? Be it for Instagram or just to send to your mates! this workshop shows you how to take better pictures with the camera in your pocket... your mobile phone! Sessions run by Preston Photographer Ashley Hardman. 12 people per session you will go for a walk in the immediate area to take photos.

Latin and Ballroom with Fever Dance Company

Screen Print Workshop

Come and try screen printing, no experience needed, all ages welcome. A workshop run by staff from ArtLab Contemporary Print Studio University of Central Lancashire.

Planetarium

The Sun and all of our Solar System's planets lined up in an artists image

Space comes to Ribbleton with this pop-up planetarium. There is something for all ages. Starting with shows for children under 5yrs, followed by some teatime and evening shows for families and older space fans. The planetarium can fit 25 people inside, please book tickets to be sure of a place.

Musician Aziz Ibrahim (former Stone Rose band member, Simply Red, Asia etc) is running a workshop to show you how to compose music on your mobile phone Android or iOS. There are more mobile devices than people on this planet. Just one puts a musical instrument or the means to makes and distribute music regardless whether android or iOS. Just bring your mobile.

Join us at the MET for a hands-on cook-and-eat session where we'll be making quick, easy, and delicious food, and you can even take home printed recipes to try! Everyone who attends is entered into a raffle to take home one of 10 air fryers used in the course!
