The Space Centre is the largest multi-sensory environment in the U.K. and is available to anyone with special needs such as:
- Developmental delay
- Cerebral palsy
- Autism
- Learning disability
- Profound multiple learning difficulties
- Challenging behaviours
- Brain injury
- Emotional difficulties
- Mental health issues, stress and anxiety
The Space Centre's mission statement:
"To provide a place where those with physical, learning or emotional difficulties may more easily acquire skills and enjoy experiences usually denied them."
Superb sensory rooms
The Space Centre offers two large sensory rooms and a third smaller room catering for a wide range of individuals to enjoy.
Space one
Inside their original sensory room, you will find two soft padded levels connected by a slide and stairs with specialist lighting and sound themes controlled by iPads, led lighting, ball pool, water bed, swing, sound box, bubble tubes, UV lighting, cameras,textures, projection and a fibre optic hut with musical steps.

Space two
Their newest and largest sensory rooms includes a giant bubble tube, illuminated ball pool, sensory integration area, amazing projection, climbing zone to slide, black UV upstairs area and a sensory hut with a 70″ TV screen with integrated PC.

Space three
Space 3 is a smaller more intimate sensory space for those with limited mobility who do not require the soft padded floor and large movement equipment. It is also suitable for those who cannot mix with others and also for assessment of sensory abilities.
Room features include a wonderful water bed, large rocker chair, vibrating armchair, bubble wall, fabulous projection via an iPad or DVD, UV lighting, fibre optics and sensory resource boxes.
