After much anticipation, the new-look, Friargate high street is now open. The revamped, pedestrian friendly design breathes new life into this popular shopping destination and showcases the fantastic array of local, independent businesses.

Beginning at UCLan's striking University Square, Friargate leads you all the way to Preston's famous Flag Market and the Harris Museum and Art Gallery. From quaint cafés to lively entertainment venues, from fine dining and craft beers to live music and freshly made pizza come along and see what's on offer.

Visit the monthly Makers Market

Head down to Friargate on the last Saturday of every month for a gathering of stalls like no other. Pick up delicious local goodies ranging from decadent cakes and handmade breads to an array of cheeses and locally distilled Gins.

As well as a mouth-watering assortment of foods, the market also hosts crafters of all varieties, making it the perfect place to pick up a treat for yourself or gifts for loved ones.
