Things to do in Preston

Fun filled family activities in the heart of Lancashire.
Preston is full of great things to do and interesting places just waiting to be discovered.
Venture into the city centre and you'll find a wealth of indoor activities to keep the whole family occupied. From high adrenaline themed fun, such as trampoline and inflatable parks, to your usual entertainment classics, including cinemas and ten-pin bowling. For arts and culture lovers, a visit to the Harris Museum and Art Gallery is a must. Currently closed for major refurbishment works to enhance and protect the building for generations to come, The Harris is recognised as one of the leading museums and contemporary art venues in the region, welcoming over 350,000 visitors annually. And for history enthusiasts, why not take a step back in time and delve into the city's past with a number of heritage tours and trails.
If it's outdoor activities you're after, Preston boasts a number of fantastic parks and gardens ready to be explored, with, perhaps, Avenham and Miller Parks being the green jewel in the city centre crown with one of the finest examples of Victorian era parks in the country. If you'd prefer to pedal about, then be sure to take a ride along the Guild Wheel - a diverse 21-mile route providing the perfect opportunity for a challenging and enjoyable day of cycling. Or, why not enjoy Preston's surrounding scenery from the comfort of your carriage with a ride on a heritage steam train at Ribble Steam Railway located on Preston Docks - the city's historical waterfront.
Whatever you fancy doing, you can be sure Preston will offer a fantastic fun filled day out.
