Nicky Nook Fell walk
Location: Scorton
Distance: 3.5 miles (approximately)
Nicky Nook is a small picturesque fell (214 metres) looking over the beautiful traditional quaint village of Scorton, near Garstang.
Although relatively modest in height, this lovely little fell offers amazing views over the Lancashire coastal plain and beyond to the Lake District fells. On a clear day, you can see the Isle of Man and the Great Orme on the welsh coast of Llandudno.
Given it's views and relative ease, this walk makes a popular visit for families with plenty of wildlife and points of interest along the way including a small tarn, Grizedale Reservoir, the prominent Jubilee cairn and a peaceful woodland section. Before returning home, why not stop off at the dog friendly Wyresdale - Apple Store Cafe for some scrumptious homemade cakes and refreshments. Just a few minutes walk from the starting point, situated in Wyresdale Park's beautiful walled garden and glass house, it makes a great way to round off the adventure.
