The Guild Wheel is a 21-mile walking and cycling route, encircling Preston and providing a link from the city to the countryside.
The Wheel is a great way to make the most of the many forms of landscapes that make this city what it is - by rambling river and canal sides to ancient woodland, city centre parkland, historic docklands and attractive nature reserves.
Full route or quick cycle
The Guild Wheel is a must for all outdoor activity and cycling enthusiasts. You can challenge yourself to the full route or join at one of the main entry points for a quick cycle, stroll, or explore. You will also find many places to stop off along the way, including places to eat and drink which can be spotted on the Guild Wheel Google map. Pubs and cafés include The Continental, near the official starting/finishing point, the Ancient Oak in Cottam, and the Final Whistle Café at UCLan's Sports Arena.
Start and finish point
The official start and finish point of the Guild Wheel is the Pavilion Café, located by the River Ribble in Avenham Park.
