Easter in Preston 2024 - fun family things to do

Awesome Easter themed activities and events happening across Preston.

With the Easter fast approaching, there are plenty of seasonal themed activities and events taking place across the city to keep the whole family entertained this holiday. From the egg-cellent Egg Rolling event - Preston's popular annual tradition going back over 150 years - and Easter egg hunts to Spring themed arts and craft sessions, you're sure to find plenty of things to do this break.

Egg Rolling 2024 - Avenham and Miller Parks

Preston's ever popular Egg Rolling event is back for 2024 with an eclectic mix of entertainment for all ages.

There will be a medley of market stalls to browse, plus an array of artists, performances and fun interactive workshops - not to mention the annual Easter Bonnet Competition! 

Of course, the egg rolling itself will take place and Plucky the chicken will be walking around ready to wish everyone a Happy Easter.

Join The Harris for an Easter half-term of fun activities for budding artists, science lovers, future programmers and history enthusiasts. From fascinating science workshops and Easter themed arts and crafts to Lego and programming, there's plenty going on to keep your little ones entertained.

Head on down to Preston Markets for an Easter extravaganza with lots in store for all the family.

Take part in the  Alice in Wonderland themed treasure hunt with a free prize for everyone who completes it. While hunting for clues on the stalls, keep your eyes peeled for amazing stilt-walkers, The Queen of Hearts and Alice in Wonderland herself.

Eat lunch with Peter Rabbit - Fishergate Shopping Centre

Peter Rabbit is inviting you to eat lunch with him at McDonald's in Fishergate Shopping Centre and you're invited!

The fluffy hero himself will be hopping around during regular intervals, spreading smiles and creating magical memories. Join him at a special table (When you purchase any food item at McDonald's), and don't forget to grab a free goody bag on your way out.

Whilst you're at the shopping centre, pop-up toddler soft play sessions will also be open from 10am to 5:30pm, so why not head along and let your little ones burn off some energy.

Any Colours You Want Easter Craft Fair - Freckleton

Any Colours You Want is hosting it's first Easter Egg-stravaganza. Prepare for a delightful adventure filled with Easter-themed festivities that will enchant both the young and the young at heart.

Embark on a fun and traditional Easter egg hunt, fantastic colouring-in competition and  kids crafting activities. From bunny ears to Easter baskets, let creativity blossom.

Easter Bunny Breakfast - Dobbies Preston

Visit Dobbie's restaurant for a tasty breakfast for the whole family followed by some egg-stra special fun with the Easter Bunny.

Follow footprints to find the Easter Bunny who is playing in the wildflower meadow, before enjoying some egg-cellent games. Afterwards, children will get to plant their very own miniature wildflower meadow to take home.

Each child will also be given a chocolate rice crispy cake. Alternatives will be supplied for children with relevant allergies.

Ribble Steam Railway - Easter Weekend Special

Enjoy some super steam train fun for the whole family this Easter. This year's fancy dress theme is "Superheroes" - so come dressed as your favourite Captain - be that Captain America, Captain Marvel, or even Captain Birdseye!

Their Easter weekend special offers lots to do for the whole family. As well as their amazing vintage trains, brilliant museum, cafe and playground, they also have an Egg Hunt.

On Good Friday and Easter Monday, their face painter, Gina, will also be on site to entertain children with her fantastic creative skills.

Enjoy daily activities from Friday 29 March through to Sunday 14 April, such as their excellent egg-venture trail, cool crafts, fabulous fancy dress and creative colouring competitions. Plus, on Friday 29 to Monday 1 April hop on over to meet the Easter bunny.

Paint Your Own Ceramic Egg Birdhouse - Barton Grange

Come and get crafty at Barton Grange this Easter with their creative Paint Your Own Ceramic Easter Egg Birdhouse Workshop. Children must be aged over 3 years old and accompanied by an adult at all times.

Family Easter Bingo - St Catherine's Hospice

Join St Catherine's for a fun traditional family evening of bingo and a raffle. All proceeds will go to the hospice.

Easter Mug Painting Workshop - Fishergate Shopping Centre

Calling all mini Picassos! Fishergate Shopping Centre are holding a free mug-tastic workshop for little ones. Unleash your child's inner artist for two egg-cellent days of creative fun. Art loving little ones can pick their plain white mug, grab their paintbrushes, and let their imaginations run wild. Whether they dream of fluffy bunnies, chocolate eggs, or blooming springtime scenes, the possibilities are endless!

This free workshop is the perfect way to keep kids entertained during the Easter holidays. Not only will they get to create a personalised mug to take home (perfect for sipping hot cocoa on chilly mornings!), but they'll also have a roaring good time doing it. So, gather your little bunnies and hop on down to Fishergate for an afternoon of arty fun and laughter.
