Halloween 2024: Where to Pick Pumpkins in Preston

Baby pumpkins, huge pumpkins, fancy pumpkins...Preston's pumpkin patches have it all this year.

Pumpkin picking is a family-friendly, fun activity guaranteed to put a smile on kids' faces. Make a day of it with attractions available, or simply grab your pumpkin and go, there are a variety of locations and events where you can get picking this year - and with plenty time to spare before Halloween.

With many places accepting bookings now, make sure to book your place early to avoid disappointment. Each venue advertised is located in Preston or within driving distance.

Mrs Dowsons Farm Park

  • Dates: Every Saturday and Sunday in October and half-term week 21 - 31 October 2024
  • Price: £10.95 adults, or £12.95 child (includes 1 pumpkin)

Join Mrs. Dowsons Farm Park this October for their Pumpkin Festival. Sprawling 3-acre pumpkin patch brimming with homegrown pumpkins and 12 rare imported varieties, with each ticket including one standard sized pumpkin. More pumpkins can be purchased on the day. The ticket includes entry to the park and additional £4 per child for entry to the indoor play area. 

Clarks Family Farm

Join Spar House Farm for their pumpkin picking events, where they will have a sea of gorgeous pumpkins ready for you to pick. It is free entry, free parking and a variety of refreshments available for purchase, including a well-stocked bar with soft drinks, local ales, lager, ciders, wines, and gins.  

Fancy dress is welcomed and encouraged, with free games and entertainment for the children, with visits from the Lancashire Owl Experience and Acorn Woodcraft.  Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome and as it is a working farm, expect mud, and don't forget your wellies!  

Bradshaws Farm Shop & Garden Centre

  • Dates: Every day in October
  • Price: £2.95 entry fee per car and then pay for what you pick
  • Booking required: Weekends and Half Term

Bradshaws Farm Shop & Garden Centre are open for pumpkin picking every day in October, with online booking available. They are open Monday - Saturday: 8am - 5pm and Sundays: 9am - 4pm.

Centurion Tank Roundabout

  • Dates: Every Saturday and Sunday in October and half-term week 21 - 25 October 2024 or until sold out

Open every Saturday and Sunday in October, 8am - 4pm, and open half-term week (21 - 25 October) the Centurion Tank Roundabout patch has pumpkins in all shapes, sizes, and colours. Prices start at £1, with some new varieties and colours to discover. Don't forget your wellies, coat, hats and gloves and well behaved dogs are allowed on leads. 

Entrance will still be at the army tank and follow the arrows down to the field and car park, no booking system is in place therefore please beware during busy periods there may be delays.

Paul's Farm Pumpkin Patch

  • Dates: Every Saturday and Sunday in October - 10am - 4pm (last admission 3.30pm)

Visit Pauls Farm, open every Saturday and Sunday in October, 10am - 4pm. Enjoy a free tractor and trailer ride to the patch where you can pick your perfect pumpkin, fresh from the field. There's lots of fun things to enjoy, including face painting, games, a spooky shop, photo opportunities and much, much more! 

Croston Pumpkin Patch

  • Dates: Every weekend from 5 October (9am - 5pm) and every weekday and weekend from 19 October to 31 October 2024 (9am - 5pm).

Croston Pumpkin Patch can be found at Culshaws Farm for 2024. Not only can you grab your pumpkin here, but the farm also has a fun-fair, stalls, face painting, food and drink, photography and a firework display on Saturday 26 October (additional charges apply). Its free to park and enter, just pay for what you pick, dogs are welcome on leads.

Windmill Farm

  • Dates: 12 - 31 October 2024
  • Price: £18.95 adult, £19.95 child (under 1's free), £16.95 OAPs and Carers
  • Booking required: Yes

Windmill Farm are back with their famous pumpkin picking adventure. Tickets include a full day of access to Windmill Animal Farm as well as a single pumpkin of your choice. More pumpkins can be purchased on the day, with many varieties, shapes, and sizes to choose from. Don't forget your wellies!

Roby Mill Pumpkin Patch

Roby Mill Pumpkin Patch is open 10am - 5pm each day they are open. Booking is only required on weekends and during Half Term and prices start at £2.  At the weekends they will also have a hot drinks van, hot and cold food, face painter and extra stalls.  An indoor marquee with lots of Halloween merchandise inside such as witches hats, activity books, ceramic candle holders and locally made items too are available. Dogs are also welcome, provided they are kept on a lead and picked up after.
